PCA Wildlife is the national leader in Commercial Bird Control. We have been in business since 1980 and we are dedicated to excellence. Birds that we deal with on a regular basis include pigeons, sparrows, grackles, starlings, vultures, geese and other nuisance birds. Our proven methods include exclusion, deterrents, trapping and waste cleanup.
Our services have been performed on the interior and exterior of commercial buildings, parking garages, residential homes, schools, shopping centers, arenas, sports venues, public buildings, loading areas, manufacturing facilities, storage areas, outdoor covered areas and outside eating areas.

Types of Disease that can be transmitted by birds
E. coli This occurs when bird droppings land in a water or food supply and are then consumed by humans. This can typically be avoided by washing food thoroughly before eating. Symptoms include nausea, fever and cramps.
St. Louis encephalitis. This disease is spread by mosquitoes after they feed on a bird that carries the pathogen that spreads St. Louis encephalitis. This inflammation of the nervous system is dangerous to all age groups but can be particularly dangerous and even fatal in adults over 60 years old and young children. Symptoms include drowsiness, headache and fever.
Histoplasmosis. This respiratory disease occurs as a result of a fungus growing in bird droppings and can be fatal.
Candidiasis. This disease is also a respiratory condition caused by a fungus or yeast found in droppings. The areas affected include skin, mouth, the respiratory system, intestines and the urogenital tract, particularly in women.
Salmonellosis. This disease is commonly called “food poisoning” and spreads via infected droppings turning into dust and contaminating food and food preparation surfaces prior to consumption.
Birds are also carriers of mites, fleas, and West Nile virus, all of which can cause discomfort and potentially serious health issues in humans.
Bird Exclusion Methods
Bird Netting- This is the most permanent solution for birds roosting under a covered area. Pigeons will roost in covered areas and can make a big mess and potentially expose people
Bird Spikes – come in a variety of sizes and styles, but they all essentially work in the same way. Bird spikes are narrow strips of spikes that can be attached to eaves, roofs, windowsills, and anywhere else large birds land or congregate. Because they have glue tracks and screw holes, the spikes can safely be attached to almost any surface including wood or concrete.
While both plastic and steel spikes work the same way (they make it difficult or impossible for a bird to land or walk in the area with spikes), steel spikes offer a few unique benefits. Not only are they less visible and blend in with a building’s architecture better than plastic spikes, steel spikes also come with a longer guarantee and are able to withstand hot temperatures and direct sunlight. The strips of spikes come in 3-, 5-, and 8-inch lengths and can be attached end-to-end to cover any desired length.
Why Do They Work?
If installed correctly, bird spikes will prevent larger birds from being able to land anywhere on or around your business (or the specific problem areas). Larger bird species such as gulls, pigeons, and crows all have large feet that are designed more for walking than for clutching. Due to the size of their feet, these birds need quite a bit of space to land and maneuver once they have landed. Bird spikes block and cover the areas the birds can land and walk around, effectively making it impossible for them to get anywhere near your business.
It’s important to note that some smaller species of birds such as starlings and sparrows will not be permanently deterred if you use bird spikes alone. This is mostly true when the birds are nesting or mating. Tiny birds use their feet to clutch branches, cables, and other objects. Birds that are small enough can still clutch the edge of a building or even the spikes themselves if necessary. Further, many small birds will build a nest around the actual spikes, eventually covering them up. While this is not true for all species and only happens in rare instances, by using other deterrents, such as electric tracks, you are sure to eliminate any bird problem you face.
